Shri Venkatesh Mahavidyalaya, Ichalkaranji.

Dear stakeholders,
I warmly welcome you to Shri.Venkatesh Mahavidalaya, Ichalkaranji. Founded in June 1983 it has been playing a significant role in disseminating the commerce education in and around Ichalkaranji town which is popularly known as the Manchester of Maharashtra. It is predominantly a textile industrial town. Naturally trade and commerce thrive in the every nook and corner of the town. The founder of Narayanrao Babasaheb Education Society, well aware of the business environment of the town and its surroundings envisaged the need of commerce education to its budding generations and founded Shri Venkatesh Mahavidyalaya in 1983. Under the able guidance and leadership of its former president (Late) honorable Shri Madanlalji Bohara, the college has achieved many landmarks during the last four decades. The legacy has now been carried out by the new president Hon. Mr. Shrinivasji Bohara.

Since the first batch of the B.com, the meritorious students have been securing the commendable place in the merit list of Shivaji University. The legacy is followed by the students of M.com and BBA programmes. The college has also received the honour of “College of Merit” by Shivaji University, Kolhapur for securing the first Rank in the Faculty of commerce (semi-urban category) ) in University Merit Scholarship Scheme.

The college has the expertise faculty and hard working administrative staff. The college ensures its students the good learning environment in its all possible ways. We believe that learning is a dynamic process and demands an education that combines academics with skills and ethics. Our college stands as a platform for those students too who seek their advancements in sports, cultural talents or even in the social services. The students are provided ampleof opportunities to participate in various on and off the campus activities related to curriculum, extension and research. I am happy to note that the innovative teaching techniques, academic collaborations and ICT enabled infrastructure have certainly been enriching the learning experience of the college. Our attempts of imparting quality education are also strengthened by our alumni who have a strong sense of belonging and are associated with the college in different forms.

I am pleased to share with you that a good number of students of our collegehave achieved the dream career of becoming C.A. and many others are the successful businessmen availing others the job opportunities. We have been trying to enhance the employability quotient of students and supporting them to become self-reliant citizens of India.

Though I have joined recently in December 2018, I am sure that the foundation laid by the former principalsof the college,Dr. A.B. Kasar and Dr. B. A. Khot will be strengthened and I will follow their legacy to reach towards the vision and mission of the college. The college has successfully completed its three cycles of NAAC and will face the consequent cycle in the coming years. I am delighted to contribute to the academic progress of the college and wish to receive your well wishes to succeed in it.
